Villa Yambol Wins the Most Medals for Bulgaria at a Prestigious French Competition

The winery brings home the only “Grand Or” Medal with Kabile Reserve Merlot

Villa Yambol won the record-setting 8 medals at the prestigious Vinalies Internationales 2022 wine competition, out of a total of 14 for Bulgarian wine makers. The Kabile series was the most successful. Gold medals were awarded to Kabile Rosé 2021, Kаbile Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, Kabile Reserve Syrah 2015 and the premium series Vineyards Selection Boliarovo Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015. Kabile Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc, Kabile Chardonnay, both from 2021, and Vineyards Selection Tenevo, blended Merlot & Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot 2016 won silver. The biggest winner in Villa Yambol’s portfolio was Kabile Reserve Merlot 2015, which French experts awarded with the only Grand Or medal won by Bulgarian wineries. 

“To get praise like this from some of the most demanding wine experts in the world is a great honor not only for us as winemakers but also for the entire wine scene in Bulgaria as well,” Krasimir Avramov, Executive Director of Villa Yambol commented. Vinalies Internationales is organized by Oenologues de France. This year the competition was fierce, with 3,000 wine samples from 30 countries. The tasting was performed in Paris by 130 internationally renowned wine experts from 40 nations.
