1924

One of the oldest wine cellars in Southern Bulgaria is established, later transformed to Villa Yambol.

Straldzha wine cellar started operating in 1965, which marked the beginning of the modern winemaking in the region.

1975

New production facilities were introduced in Yambol, that converted the cellar into the largest and most modern winery in Southern Bulgaria.

1993

75% of all Bulgarian wines imported in the Nordic countries were produced by Villa Yambol.

1994

Villa Yambol presented for the first time to export markets bottled wines that immediately shifted the focus from bulk to bottles.

2003

Villa Yambol wines represented approx. 50 % of all Bulgarian red wines imported in Japan, Canada, UK, Belgium, the Netherlands. The winery also exported wines to Norway, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Austria, France, Denmark, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and USA.

Villa Yambol was successfully ISO 9001:2000 and BRCGlobalStandard certified.

Successful launch of the new series of high quality red and white wines PЭRSONA.

2006

The implementation of a large investment program started, including a comprehensive overhaul of the whole cellar, a new heating system, two additional bottling lines, renovation of the existing bottling facilities and part of the warehouses.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 is awarded Golden Rython at Vinaria 2009, with samples being taken at random from the shops.

2011

A new brand has been launched in 2011 - Villa Yambol. These are good quality affordable wines, excellent for everyday drinking with your family. - Persona Cabernet Franc 2008 wins Golden Rhyton at Vinaria 2011.

2014

Having over 90-years-old traditions in the production of wines and brandies, the Winery is known as the oldest one in South Bulgaria. Villa Yambol Syrah 2010 won the Golden Rhyton of Vinaria 2014.

2016

The company changed its name after its most successful wine brand, being officially renamed from Yambol Winery to Villa Yambol. Villa Yambol Merlot 2015 won the Golden Rhyton of Vinaria 2016 in the category “Young red wine”.
