Wines ‘Villa Yambol Merlot 2013’ and ‘Villa Yambol Cabernet Sauvignon 2013’ received a brilliant presentation and were given high grades by the American wine blog thewinestalker.net. "Merlot of ‘Villa Yambol’ embodies everything which should be a merlot and clearly shows why the wines of this variety, produced in Bulgaria, have been so successful in the past," said the creator of the blog Joey Casco. He gives the maximum score 5, and highly recommends it. "The moment you try it you are stricken by its intense taste to finish with an aftertaste of blackberry – exactly the taste with which it started", the blogger writes. According to him, the wine was so good that it would appeal even to those who do not generally like Merlot as a variety.
The other wine, which was also granted with special attention by the blogger is ‘Villa Yambol Cabernet Sauvignon 2013’. He reported its deep ruby red color and smoky flavor of wild red berries, and he even detected a slight hint of watermelon. The acidity and structure of this wine needs several years of aging to reach their maximum potential, the expert recommends.
