Hundreds of people at the premiere of the latest Bulgarian production
One of the most awarded Bulgarian wine brands, KABILE, produced by Villa Yambol Winery, is the exclusive wine partner of the new Bulgarian series "Mamnik," which premiered on BNT on the 8th January. The series is based on the bestseller of Storytel and Vasil Popov. The film is directed by Viktor Bojinov, and the idea and production are by Magardich Halvadjian's company Global Films. The wines in the KAIBLE series were featured not only on screen, but also at the gala premiere, which brought together the star-studded cast. "A wonderfully shot film, an intriguing plot, and new acting discoveries. The best thing is that a young author like Vasil Popov uses mythology to talk about the present day. Mamnik is different and more complex than predictable plots," wrote Kristina Patrashkova after the screening.
Among the guests at the premiere, in addition to the entire cast, director Viktor Bojinov, actor Vlado Penev, were also spotted Hilda Kazasyan, Levon Hampartzoumyan, Vanya Shtereva, Uti Bachvarov, Niki Kanchev, the guys from the band Molec, and many other popular faces. The real star of the evening was the dog Iron, who plays a key role in the plot and won over the audience with his completely professional acting presence.
The series tells the story of life in a border village in the Tran region, isolated due to the increasing cases of coronavirus, where people begin to be harassed by a mamnik - a winged demonic bird known from the myths and legends of Bulgarian folklore. Two border police officers and an elderly man from the village nursing home will investigate the mystery surrounding the appearance of the mamnik and try to deal with the evil.
KABILE wines have won dozens of medals from the most prestigious wine competitions in the world and are named after the ancient Thracian city of Kabile, which is located just a few kilometers from the Villa Yambol winery. They are inspired by the ancient traditions of winemaking since the time of the Thracians and the rich heritage of this region. The ancient Thracian mother goddess Kybele is present on the bottle label.
