The winery won a third of all Bulgarian awards, including two Grand Gold Medals
Villa Yambol won a record 10 medals for Bulgaria at the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles world competition. Two of the wines were awarded with a Grand Gold Medal. Vineyards Selection Topolitsa 2019 vintage and Kabile Reserve Syrah 2019, both from the Syrah variety. Kabile Reserve Merlot 2019, Kabile Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Kabile Chardonnay 2024, Kabile Syrah 2021 won Gold. With two gold awards, the world's experts appreciated the producer's top-class wines Vineyards Selection from the Bolyarovo micro region, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2018 and Vineyards Selection from Tenevo, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, 2019. In 2023 Vineyards Selection Tenevo, 2017 vintage that was named the best red wine in the world at the same competition. Silver awards went to the Vineyards Selection Rose, vintage 2024 and Kabile Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc 2024.
375 experts tasted more than 7000 samples
Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is the largest travelling international wine competition in the world. This year the evaluation of white and red wines took place in China. 375 international experts from 56 nationalities tasted 7165 samples from 49 countries. Bulgaria won a total of 33 medals, which means that the producer from Yambol brought home nearly a third of the awards. Only 1% of the samples were awarded a major gold medal.
Double success for our Syrah
The award-winning Kabile Reserve Syrah was produced in a series of 100 special anniversary bottles to celebrate 100 years of Villa Yambol this year. This is the second major gold award for the wine after it was recognized at another international competition Vinalies Internatioanles, organized by the Union of Oenologists in France. The producer returned from that competition with six medals: two grand golds and four golds.
