Villa Yambol's wine receives the highest award International Revelation Red Wine 2023 at an official ceremony in the European Parliament
The best red wine in the world, the Villa Yambol's terroir wine Vineyards Selection Tenevo, has officially taken home the gold from Brussels. It was awarded the highest prize of the 30th edition of the prestigious wine forum Mondial de Bruxelles and won the title of International Revelation Red Wine. The award - an honorary plaquette and a Grand Gold medal, was presented to Gergana Krikoryan - Production Director of Villa Yambol. The prize was awarded at an official ceremony in the European Parliament in Brussels by Thomas Costenoble, the Director of Mondial de Bruxelles.
Over 100 diplomats, members of the European Parliament and politicians, tasted the Bulgarian wine in the heart of Brussels.
This is a huge recognition for Villa Yambol as for the first time the best red wine in the world comes from Bulgaria. “This is not just the result of hard work and a lot of effort, this wine is a dream come true. Ever since we planted the vineyards in these terroirs, we set out the objective to create unique wines that demonstrate the power of the terroir and the potential it can reveal in classic French varieties in our country,” said the Villa Yambol team.
The terroir wine Vineyards Selection Tenevo produced by Villa Yambol won in competition with 4,836 other samples submitted. The travelling competition is held in a different location each year. This year tasters and world wine experts from 45 countries gathered in Poreč, Croatia, in mid-May. There were 7,500 beverages sent from 50 countries around the world.
The top-rated Bulgarian red wine Vineyards Selection Tenevo is produced from selected vineyards of “Villa Yambol” in the microregion of Tenevo. It is made from three varieties - Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
