Vinprom Yambol's wines were presented at the tasting counter within the Annual Forum “Europe and the Wine” in France, which took place in October. This year, our country participated for the first time as honorary guest country at the prestigious event.
Bulgarian wine is becoming increasingly popular among foreigners. The increase in export rates that Bulgaria is expected to record this year proves it. According to the prognoses of the Executive Agency for Vine and Wine (EAVW), it will be 10 % in comparison to last year. During the first six-month period, more than 20 million litres of wine have been exported from the country, said Krasimir Koev, Executive Director of the Agency, during a press conference at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The first three months of the year have marked a rise in exports, while the second trimester had equal results to last year's. The main countries that Bulgaria exports wine to are Russia, Poland, Germany and Scandinavia. Over 1.5 litres of wine have been sold on the Turkish market, which had never happened before, Koev said. More than 250 litres of alcoholic beverages have been exported to our southern neighbour's markets throughout the year. Krasimir Koev also noted that for the first time we have exported 120 tons of red broached wine for Brazil. This amount is expected to reach 300 tons by the end of the year.
