Villa Yambol Organizes the Largest Wine Festival

24.02.2020

The Oldest Winery in the South of Bulgaria Provides 5,000 Liters of its Best Wine to Lubricate the Festivities

Premium quality Bulgarian wine by Villa Yambol, tasty food and colorful folk dances opened the 2020 edition of the Wine Festival. This is the fifth installment of the event, which brings unforgettable emotions and an opportunity for the people of Yambol to share the joy of the successful start of the year for the grape growers and wine makers of the region. A pleasant surprise for the guests of the event was the presentation of the unique selection of Kabile Reserve, which includes three captivating single-variety red wines, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon with impressive fruity bouquet and fine barrique ripeness.

„Our region is known for its cherished grape growing and wine-making traditions,“ said Villa Yambol Executive Director Krasimir Avramov as he opened the event. „Here, each family is connected one way or another to the vineyards, the wineries or the rakia distilleries. That is why we dedicate this event to the city and its rich wine making history and the traditions passed on from generation to generation,“ Mr Avramov stated, adding that Villa Yambol’s wines of the 2019 season had excellent quality. „This was one of the best years we have had for a while. Nature was on our side and our team of agronomists and technologists gave it their best so we can launch our newest Kabile Reserve premium selection, which is a comprehensive representation of the wealth of our land and the unique combination of climate and soil,“ he concluded.

After the speech, the Tundzha Dance Company presented a selection of traditional folklore dances typical for the region. A Kuker company from the Georgy Bratanov Community Center in Yambol performed a ritual putting an end to winter. Ilka Alexandrova, a favorite singer of many generations, performed some of her signature songs for the citizens of Yambol and their guests. Katerina Evro, a favorite performer of many Bulgarians, added a little bit more fun for the guest not only as the MC of the show, but also by leading the long and colorful horo. The team of chefs brought in by Uti Bachvarov was also around to treat the guests to some of their giant meatballs made especially for the event.
