Vinprom Yambol won a golden medal for its Yambolska grozdova rakia during the national tasting competitions. The wines of the series PERSONA, recently presented on the market, were awarded with the certificate "Wine of the year". They create on the internal market the new vision of one of the largest Bulgarian wine exporters.
The PERSONA wine is produced from carefully chosen grapes from strictly defined vineyards. The region is unique with the location of the vineyards, which are used to supply raw materials for its production. The vineyards are cultivated under the year- round care of oenologists and agriculturalists from Vinprom Yambol, who apply the latest agricultural and technical practices to achieve maximum results. When the grapes enter Vinprom Yambol they undergo a strict quality control in order to select the most ripe grapes for the PERSONA wines with mild and fine tannins and strong, fruity aroma.
The wine making process of this grape includes the most modern technologies, approved by the wine producing countries over the last few years. Absolutely unique is the application of the cold maceration technology that contributes the maximum preservation of the fruity aroma in the wine material and the extraction of fine and soft tannins. During the fermentation are used special yeasts at low temperatures, which is actually the optimal technological regime for red wine production and this unique preservation of the finesse is one of PERSONA's secrets.
The successes of Vinprom Yambol at this year's national wine tasting competition are lining within the long list of awards from prestigious international wine exhibitions, among which these in Brussels, Montreal and France, as well as numerous awards from previous editions of Vinaria, have already become a tradition.
Vinprom Yambol consists of two factories - a Winery in Yambol and a wine cellar in Straldzha. The Wine Cellar in the town of Straldzha was commissioned in1965 and the Winery in Yambol - in 1975.
Specific for the region of Yambol is the unique location of the vineyards in the valley of Tundzha River, the typical micro - climate with mild winters and averagely hot summers which allows production of high quality wines and grape distillates. This ensures more equal ripening of grapes and its vinification to higher quality of wines.
Since its commissioning, the winery produces only high quality wines that are sold in Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, Russia and Bulgaria as broached wines. During the period 1993–1994, 70-75% of the export for the Scandinavian countries was coming from the Yambol winery. For the past years the company is one of the four largest factories for producing and bottling of grape rakia.
