On August 23, Vinprom Yambol opened the newest part of their production facility – the microvinification winery. The winery is among the most modern ones on the Balkans and would allow the Yambol company to offer selected wine series on the market. More than 100 guests were present at the special opening ceremony, which began with the cutting of the ceremonial band by the Governor of Yambol, Nikolay Penev, and the Executive Director of Vinprom Yambol, Krasimir Avramov. Father Georgi from the central church of Yambol, St. Nicholas the Miracle Worker, blessed the company's latest acquisition.
„Microvinification actually means the production of small batches,” shared Mr. Krasimir Avramov during the opening ceremony. The wonder of fermentation takes place within special vessels, which helps produce wine with a distinctive character and rich flavour. It is no coincidence that all renowned French wineries work this way, the Executive Director added.
Over BGN 1 million were invested into the new winery. It was built in just 5 months, the equipment for processing grapes was delivered from Italy, and the fermentation vessels were produced in Bulgaria. It should be noted that the winery will only use grapes from its own vineyards in the villages of Tenovo, Bolyarovo and Topolitsa, where they grow a number of traditional Bulgarian varieties, as well as a few which are new for our country, such as Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Viognier. The planting of the vineyards began in 2005, which means that some of them are just entering their best years of fruitfulness.
